app groups
« on: May 19, 2013, 05:37:27 PM »
Hello -

I'm having a problem adding new apps to existing groups. When I move an app close to a group, the group jumps away from the single app, almost as if they were magnets with the same polarity. I try it quickly, slowly, I open and close the group -- but just can't get the app to merge with the existing group. Sometimes this happens when I'm trying to create a new group by merging two single apps, too.

I believe this started happening with the 4.2.2 update.

Anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions?

Cheers,
-martyh

I've noticed the same thing when I was using nova launcher which I've been told is based on the stock browser. It was very frustrating when you like to use folders like I do. It is one of the reasons I decided to go back to Adw launcher EX. It doesn't happen for me in ADWLAUNCHER so I think it may be a problem with the launcher.

If it is happening for you with the 4.2.2 launcher or one based on it, install ADWLAUNCHER and see if the problem dissappears.

(I have no connection financial or otherwise with ADW) .

Thanks, engineer,

I appreciate your response.

Has anyone heard if this is a reported issue on stock Android 4.2.2?

Cheers,

I've found this dpes happen occasionally on both the stock Launcher and Nova but I've also found that if you move the icon away from the other that you want to merge into a folder and then back it does respond.
Another truck at least with ADW is once you have created a folder, open it and you'll see three periods on the bottom right, trap them and select Add...

JayJ,

Unfortunately groups in the stock launcher don't have those 3 dots; too bad because that would have been an easy solution.

Thanks.
