Mp3 ringtones
« on: July 03, 2013, 09:17:32 PM »
I have some Mp3 files I want to use in my Nexus 7 wifi, (not 3G). I found the folder for notifications and its contents are all ogg files.

Can mp3 files be used as ringtones (in Talkatone)?

Where would I put them so Talkatone can read and use them? Do I need to convert the mp3 files to ogg format first? How?

Thank you.

A free pc program for audio conversion is Audacity. Ogg might be ogg vorbis, an old lossless audio compression format.

Android does support using mp3's as ringtones, but as matt suggested Audacity is a good free option for trimming down the mp3's to just the segment that you want.
