« on: January 01, 2013, 02:45:44 PM »
Hi, my husband gave me a nexus7 for Christmas. I want to listen to my cd`s on it and also to move some music from iTunes. I have tried to sync 2 albums onto it, it says its done it but I can't find them. I`m not a whizz with this technology stuff so could you keep any replies simple. Thanks ???

Try the play music app already installed on the nex7.
When usb tethered to my win box, I right click an album folder, send to nexus 7, which puts it in the /music folder where play music (headphones icon) will find it.

You may need to convert the cds to mp3 format, called ripping, first.
Windows media player can do this for you as well as adding album cover art.

If you are using apple, someone else will help you.

If you are syncing from the itunes app, you may need to update itunes for the newer nexus 7 file structure.

Thanks. I`ll try that. I had ripped the 2 CD `s and it said it had been sync`d across but I can`t find them. I have tried the headphones icon. It shows a `page`as if you could press I play icon, but there `s nothing there.

In the Play Music app, press the 3 block icon at the upper right, then choose on device music. If there is still nothing then the music was not synced correctly. You didn't mention what program you ripped and synced with, or the computer type. If Apple, and Itunes, there must be  forums  for those that could help.

Hi matt,
Thanks for that. I tried it. It didn't show up any music. I have just updated Google play and it gives some better instructions now. With those, and your info, i`ll try again. I did it from my sons laptop which has windows 8. I think it was media player that it synced and ripped from.
Thanks for your help
Diane  :)
