Can the micro USB be used when using pogo dock?

Hi all

Sorry if I haven't phrased the subject very well. I am currently looking at getting a nexus 7 to install in a car.

One of the only problems I came across was being able to charge the device and plug in the tv micro USB adapter I want for it (link below)

With the recent release of the dock charger using the pogo pins I wonder if someone could confirm whether or not the micro USB would still work while sat in the dock?

nobody seems very sure at this point but most say NOPE !

in any case you will need to root your N7 and install Timur's special kernal to allow charging while other microUSB connections are made - and YES this is doable but requires a special cable for the microUSB port which is all you need other than a (powered) hub if you want more than one device connected OTG.

You can read all about that and benefit from the experiences of several others who have posted over at XDA forums with some of the same car mount issues as you raise.

This is really useful, it looks like it may be cheaper to use the methods you have pointed to rather than spending £30 on a dock that i would have to chop up to fit in my car dash!
