Help with Mantano reader
« on: February 08, 2013, 12:12:05 PM »
Im having a problem with Mantano and Im wondering if anybody is having the same problem and or knows a fix for it. The problem is when I select a word, to be defined, with any of the web options ( google, wikipedia, wiktionary ) the second time I try to use it Mantano crashes. The first time I can scroll the screen up and down with no problems. The second time, when I try to scroll the screen, it crashes to a report screen. With the embedded dictionary I have no problems but when I use the web options it crashes. I have contacted Mantano but havnt had a response ( its been about a week ). Not to mention Ive contacted them before about this problem. I would appreciate any feedback from anyone. Thanks.

My suggestion is to switch to a more stable eReader since there are just so many good ones; I tried Mantano and decided to move along.

I like coolreader and moonreader+ but there are many others

Thanks for the response Bigtroutz. I am beginning to think that a different eReader may be the best course of action. Ive posted this thread in 2 other forums and have had 1 other reply besides yours. I think im the only one having this problem. Anyway thanks again for your post.

nope, if you take the few minutes required you can read in one of the reviews that REJECTS Mantano reader that the reviewer thinks it has WAY too many bugs that make it crash....curiously enough.

but it was just too limited in capabilities compared to the others, as a matter of fact.

I read your links and downloaded several readers to try out. I liked Moon+ Reader the best out of what I downloaded and went ahead and got the pro version since it was 50% off. I also sent the developer an email and got a response promptly which was a nice change of pace. Wanted to thank you again for suggestions and links.

I am happy that you have resolved your issue and can read in peace, which is what it is all about.  Enjoy your new reader and the new worlds that books can bring.

A site that I've found helpful is the The eBook Reader Blog.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?
