Is there any update on when Verizon will begin activating the Nexus 7?  It's been considerably more than the 4 to six weeks they said it would take for certification. ::)

Although I don't have an LTE machine and am not planning to buy one.  If I was I would be buying from a different carrier.

A quick Google search for when will Verizon begin activating the Nexus 7 appears to show that Verizon is having another one of their temper tantrums.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

I know the history, just not when it will be resolved. I've got another year and a half on a Verizon plan with 3 devices, it's cheapest to stay with them, and they've got the best coverage in my area.  This would be my first Droid devise.  If they don't come to their senses by the time the new i Pad mini is available, I guess I'll pony up and spend the apple premium.

Can't you just use one of your devices as a hotspot? I have Verizon and use either my Jetpack or my phone.

I'm sure some of you saw this earlier in the week.  Verizon is now saying that is Google who is responsible for the holdup due to some incompatibility with Jellybean.  Sounds ridiculous I know but there it is.  Now they're saying that they won't certify the Nexus 7 2013 for the Verizon network until the official KitKat update goes out.  Ah, it would be fun to be a fly on the wall in whatever room these two megacorps are discussing this stuff.   Here's a couple of articles about it.

From many of the tech blogs I check, it seems to me that Verizon doesn't like to approve devices on which they haven't installed their bloatware.

On September 17, Jeff Jarvis posted his history with Verizon.  Verizon caught red-handed in violation of FCC openness regulation

He has filled a formal complaint with the FCC.  When Verizon has to shell out some big bucks in fines, I'd bet y'all will get your LTE service.

Don't expect any quick action from the FCC. Consumers have repeatedly filed complaints about Verizon's and the wireless industry's plan pricing with 2 year contracts on subsidized phones. Yet, after the two year contract is completed and the subsidized money should be recovered, there is no reduction and in the plan pricing. The FCC recognizes that it is an unfair practice, and yet refuses to take action, as this could slow mobile expansion. Just saying.....
