Android update download problem

After I downloaded the "upgrade" to my Nexus 7, the battery meter went into a 0% battery life mode, and has not cleared.  It seems to work fine, and I charge it daily, but the meter always indicates that my battery is at 0% and I need to connect my charger. Help!

Weird, I had the same problem when I first picked up my nexus 7 2013. This  was on day one of sales. I ended up taking mine back after working with Google for a couple of days.

I tried a couple of factory resets to no avail and connected to power for many hours - both powered on and off.

Perhaps Google has figured this issue out now, I'd recommend you try engaging them.

I'd take it back. If the warranty has lapsed, and reset doesn't fix it, a factory image flash might.

Found some other options.
1.Boot into recovery with power and volume down, choose power off, plug in charger.
2. Open the back and check that the battery cable is fully seated.
