Good question.  When you go to setup your device for the first time, it should ask you for your Google account and such.  Once you enter it in, I believe the credit should then be applied.

One of my co-workers got his tablet from Staples and when he started it up, it asked if he wanted to claim his $25 credit right on the screen.

Open the Google Play store, it should be there when you purchase an application...

Agreed.  You won't know if you really got your $25 credit until you try to buy something on Google Play, and then you will find you have the choice of applying the price against your balance.

Yeah, I tried purchasing an app already and still, nothing shows in my payment method. What a shame.

When you make a purchase from Google Play, the payment method will default to your credit card and using the drop down key in the payment selection box revealed my $25 credit option.

Since I've had my Google Play credit, the credit has been default on both my devices...

I have £6.02 remaining of £15 GBP...

I pre-ordered my N7 from Google.  They sent me this email:

"To get you started with your Nexus 7, we've given you $25.00 credit to spend on Google Play. Pick your favorite entertainment from more than 600,000 apps and games, millions of eBooks and songs, thousands of movies, and a growing selection of TV shows and magazines.

Your Google Play balance is ready to use right away: to start, just go to the Google Play store and start shopping. During check out, choose "Google Play balance" as your payment method and enjoy your selection."

I haven't found anything I want to buy yet.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?
