For the second time in two weeks we've got an XDA member pushing the limits of where the Nexus 7 can go, this time overclocking the now infamous slate to a mind boggling 2 GHz. Those who love stats and numbers might get a kick out of knowing this pushed the N7 to achieve over 8000 in Quadrant and some pretty impressive numbers in the RL benchmark as well.
The feat, accomplished by Simms22 and Clemsyn at the aforementioned XDA Developers forum was done with a test kernel called 'Elite' which admitted by the developers is really only stable up to around 1.8GHz. After that and you run the chance of some unexpected heat caused instability. Because of the risky nature of running this kernel yourself we'll flat out warn the vast majority to not even try but if you're a daredevil hacker who doesn't mind throwing caution, not to mention your warranty to the wind then you can get all the gritty details
