Listening to audio while reading a pdf?

Hello all,

I'm considering a Nexus 7, but I need to be able to listen to audio, pause it, fast forward, and rewind, while looking at a pdf file. The reason is that I have a spanish learning program split into mp3s and pdfs.

I played with a Nexus 7 in the store for a few minutes and it seemed like it would play audio while looking at a book, but it was cumbersome to pause the audio and I couldn't see a way to rewind without restarting the entire audio file.

Is there a native app that will do what I'm trying to do, or even a paid/free app that will do it?

I don't know what you mean by cumbersome as far as hitting the pause button but I don't use the built in player. I use Power Amp. Most players that I have tried run in the background and allow you to perform other tasks. I would try some different apps like PA, Winamp etc. I'm sure you will find one with a UI that you are comfortable with. Power amp allows you to rewind as well.

Yes multitasking is possible on the Nexus 7, the easiest way would be if you find a PDF viewer that does not take the whole screen and leaves the statusbar visible and a music player that allows fast forwarding and rewinding from the notification screen. This way would be the easiest because you could leave the music player running in the background and whilst viewing a PDF you could open the notification screen to pause, fast forward and rewind your audio.
Unfortunately the stock Music player does not allow fast forwarding and rewinding from the notification screen and I use Adobe PDF viewer which uses the full screen and hides the statusbar, this is your direct access to the notification screen.

The only other way would be with the recently used applications pop-up which can be used for task switching but this is probably what your referring to as cumbersome.

So the answer is yes if you can find a PDF viewer that doesn't use the full screen and a music player that can fast forward and rewind from the notification screen.
