If you're looking for a powerful Twitter client for your Nexus 7 and you want the very best then look no further than 'Tweetings' by RBD Solutions LTD.   Now recently ZDNET's James Kendrick to an article on 'Tweetings' that points out some of the great and unique features that make it stand out as superior from other Twitter clients.  Key to this superiority is the attention to detail the developers have put into ease of use with functional redundancies built in that let you access your most frequently used functions in multiple ways.    For example there are several ways to access the 'tweet' button.  In addition to the standard button in the top menu you can configure a 'floating' button that is always available and even turns transparent when not in use so that you can see the information below.   There's lots more as you'll see in a second.

Features:
- Large screen support with panes
- Supports posting to TwitLonger and inline expansion
- Uploading pic.twitter.com images as well as Img.ly, TwitPic and yFrog
- Customize, edit, apply filters to photos
- TweetMarker & Tweetings Cloud Timeline Sync support
- Stream Tweets over WiFi... let the tweets flow, no need to refresh your main timelines again
- Manage multiple accounts
- Split long tweets into multiple shorter tweets
- Google Cloud push notifications for mentions, dms, when you get a new follower, when you are retweeted, etc
- Inline image previews
- User photo timelines
- Schedule tweets: write a tweet, set a time and a date and then just wait. Your device doesn't even need to be turned on!
- Saved Searches
- View user's nearby on a map
- Local Trends
- Translate tweets
- Shorten links with a variety of providers
- List support
- Mute twitter users, words or applications
- View conversations
- Delete your own tweets and Direct Messages
- Change timeline text size
- Enable or disable retweets on a user by user basis
- Pull to refresh
- Picture preview
- Geotagging
- Compose username autocomplete

Now the main screen of 'Tweetings' is set up in a classic 'dual pane' configuration.  But again the developers have gone the extra step to make it particularly useful so instead of having the option of sliding panes under each other that you would expect to find...you can tap to bring a pane to the front.  Pretty spiffy we must say and it makes for a quicker Twitter experience.   Other cool shortcuts and innovative features you won't find on other Twitter clients include the ability to bring up a user's profile simply by tapping his avatar or to see a user's recent photo postings right on the right pane.   Searching has also been improved when you're composing a tweet.  As you type in a twitter address not only does the program know to recommend twitter users that match but it also brings up the avatar for super quick identification.   There's lots more and a host of customizations that have made me change 'Tweetings' to be my Twitter client of choice from now on.   You can grab 'Tweetings' at the link below at the Google Play Store and you can also learn more about the standout features in ZDNET's article.

It's a shame Tweetings for Twitter is not FREE.

I have been using UBERSOCIAL for a month or so now, which is free and also has a FaceBook (  :-[ ) feed built in.

All in all, it's very good, even offering BETA releases and responding to them if there are problems, as has happened today.

Personally, I like the double pane view of Tweetings.  I don't mind supporting a developer for a job well done as long as it's not exorbitant.  $1.99 is reasonable for a well designed app.
