i have the toolkit and downloaded images for 4.1.1 and 4.1.2-would it be worth trying to flash 4.1.2 with the toolkit.

It was blue  bullet who lost root, not commodore128. Yes, I think you can just flash the 4.1.2 image,  commodore128.

That's probably the easiest thing to do, just remember flashing the factory image will wipe your device so backup the internal memory first...

Thanks for pointing out that I quoted the wrong post, so I have corrected it. A good lesson, in that we all make errors, so admit them and go on.

all done - with a combination of twrp and wugs i have now got stock 4.1.2 - just a case of rooting and putting all my data back.
