Sharing a Nexus 7
« on: October 05, 2012, 09:13:29 PM »
I will be sharing my first Nexus 7 with my wife.

I know you can't have two different profiles for two different users, so, what should I keep in mind when sharing?

You need to keep in mind that any emails received to the primary Gmail account will be viewable by your wife so don't go ordering any Christmas/Birthday presents for here online with that account (buy her an N7, then you can keep this one for yourself.;)).
Any email accounts added to the email client by either you will be viewable by you both, obviously no a problem if you share an email account.
It's going to be harder to memory manage the device with two people using it, apps installed by you both and any downloads or media added will take up space which you'll need to manage so not as to fill the internal storage.
Browsers, remember if you view any websites you don't her to know able either view in an incognito tab or clear the history.
Settings & preferences, could the way you want to use the N7 differ from the wife?

That's all I can think of atm, I'll come back and add more as and when I think about it.

Thanks, that helps.
Our first Nexus will be set up using our primary Gmail address.
We do share most things. The Nexus won't be any different.
Your other comments are spurring me to get the 16g version.

Now I see rumors of a 32 g, but I don't want to wait.

My bet is that you will find yourself buying a second Nexus 7 before too long, not because you cannot share it, but because you will both enjoy using it so much that it will be more convenient to have two.

I agree with most are saying about the getting a 2nd N7 especially if since the they're not really not that expensive. I'd hate to share mine with my wife and vice versa. Gotta be able hide my naughty stuff :)

Don't bet S.Prime.  You'll lose, but you'll find that you spent the money wisely.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?
