I'm wondering if you bought the version with the $75 (!) license...

Worryingly, running Avast did not detect it at all.

This is why I tell people not to bother with security applications in Android, you are your first line defence when installing applications when/if you read an apps permissions.

having only recently become a tablet owner i.e the 7. i was lucky to spot from some forum i read about the 7 that when installing an app always check the permissions. if it seems to want to much then simply do not install. have avast installed but avg always scans any app i install.

For battery life try Juice Defender, been using it since my first Android device.

Turns on and off youre wifi and 3g an only enables at regular periods.

While you can't trust the multipler they supply, logic indicates that this method should indeed increase battery life.

(assuming you are willing to with say 15 minutes for your emails etc to come through )

Juice Defender seems great. Thanks.
You can see it turning WiFi and the screen back on at times. So logically it has
To be saving battery. Says x 1.9 - 2.1, maybe this is optimistic.
Question, is it with paying to get the Plus or Ultimate paid versions?

I've had great luck with Battery Defender as well.  I love the fact that it give me the ability to mess with the settings, thus giving me the flexibility to tweak until I get it the way I like.

As far as whether or not it is worth buying the ultimate or other paid versions, I myself, have the Ultimate, and it gives me some more bells and whistles, but IMHO, I mainly bought the app just to show support.  I suppose, in a nutshell, it may be worth the couple of dollars, but it really isn't a deal breaker, as the free version works very well.  I am simply the type of guy who likes buying the donate version to show support for quality apps.  There's so much trash out there, when I encounter something worthy, I show some gratitude.
