16gb Nex7 for sale
« on: October 19, 2012, 11:41:43 PM »
Now that it is confirmed that Staples is already selling the 32, I just posted my 16 on Craigslist. I am hoping to get 200 to absorb some of the cost of the new one. Is that a fair price?

When they can get a brand new 32GB for $50 more? Um, yeah. Good luck with that.

I'm not gonna buy it its already bs I've only had mine for three weeks and they don't say sh1t about it so they can push all the old units out before it becomes obsolete not like I'm worried with the whole cloud thing I'm not even close to using all my space up other than games

I think it's a reasonable price bjs229, yes so the 32GB is going to be only $50 more but it's a 16GB Nexus 7 for the price of an 8GB...

The 8 is 50 dollars less than the 16.
How much would you ask knowing that you are going to get chopped in the end?

I have 8 emails from CL for my Nexus. Most of them want more pics and the usual "is this still available" . I stated in the ad if the post is still active the item is available. WTF!
I figure I will get around 180 for it at this point. I have been thinking. As much as I want the biggest and the best I am having second thoughts right now. Even with my minor screen lift and the screen lightning issue I still love my machine. I think I am going to wait a while. I have plenty of space using otb and am semi comfortable sitting in the drivers seat right now. Hopefully she can't read.

As a suggestion, why not wait a bit and Rma it to Google for the screen lift and they will probably replace it with a 32 gig version. If you go ahead and buy a 32 gig model, you will have a much better chance of selling the replacement or a better version for the wife / kids.

That is good thinking Prime.

I think any RMA will be with ASUS, not Google, and they are almost certainly never going to give you a 32GB version for a 16GB with screen lift.

the 16GB one is not being retired, so why would they.  In fact, the chances are you will get a reconditioned one if you went down this route....or maybe your one back with some super-glue on it!

One of the advantages of purchasing the Nexus 7 from Google Play, is that Google will handle the exchange for you and cross ship a replacement, if they determine that it is a warranty issue, also we have had one forum member report that Google asked if it acceptable to replace their 16 gig with a 32 gig, which was returned for warranty service. Although I can not verify that the 16 to 32 gig report is factual, it is certainly worth a try. Also, Google has certainly accepted that their is a screen lift issue and appears willing to replace the. Nexus 7 units with the problem and I have heard no complaints about the replacement units or shoddy repairs.

I bought my machine at a brick and mortar store. That decision is probably going to come back and haunt me. I am an instant grat kind of person. Sometimes that has its pitfalls. That being said I still love my little machine. I have learned a crap load with "her" and can say that even with the imperfections, she was a bargain. The pace that technology moves at now is amazing. That is why I can't really be pissed that a big brother just was born. Am I jealous? Yes. I just am having a hard time justifying the cost of the replacement and I really don't want to be without it for three weeks being fixed even if they send me back double the Gigs.
