I don't believe that the software has been developed as of yet.  When Asus releases accessories that make use of the pogo pins, then we might see more into this.

It is possible to do now. I know I read somewhere that there are several methods. Apple tv being one. WINDOWS media player and allowing remote control and an app also comes to mind. I will search for the info.

I read that Android 4.2 has a wireless HDMI feature, so couldn't that be used (when we get it on N7 later this month) to stream any audio/video content from the N7 to the TV, without having to buy anything?

I believe you are correct but I think your components need to be able to use the new technology.

Yes. What you'll need is a Miracast receiver hooked up to your tv.

When can we get these receivers? I know I saw something about a dongle hookup? I heard something about tvs already having the technology built in.

I take that back.  Reading the details, and doing more searching, the existing wireless adapters seem to be for an Intel protocol, not Miracast.
