ROMs Offered for the Nexus 7 at This Time
« on: October 25, 2012, 09:52:10 AM »
Lately, I have begun to see some buzz related to the various ROMs offered for our beloved Nexus 7.  Strewn through this forum, and others, I have seen various lists of the ROMs currently available for the device.  I felt that since each list has some minor differences, I would try and compile all of the ROMs I could find, along with a quick synopsis of each one.  As time goes on, I will flash each one on my device, and post some of the notable findings/bugs.  Please, if I have missed any, send me a PM, and I will add it to the list.  I will be obtaining the information from the various forums I am part of, and other repositories, and will try and note them all at the end.  Also, as the list is going to be sizable, if a new version of the ROM comes out, and I miss it, please send me a PM, and I will update the link.
Thanks, and happy flashing!

TU from me for arbor.  I like the idea of one central post listing all of the ROMs.  It will probably become one of the most useful topics on the forum.

Full disclosure:  I still haven't decided whether or not to root my N7.  I've rooted all of my android phones first thing out of the box.  The N7 comes with so little bloatware that I'm not sure I'll ever root it.
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?

Sorry for the formatting issue.  Just to make things easier for all, I have attached a .docx of the earlier posted list of ROMs.  Included with the document, are the various hyperlinks to mainly XDA Devlopers, which the ROMs reside in.  Again, as I flash each ROM, I will create sub lists with a quick review/opinion, such that someone can benefit from my mistakes, hopefully.  SHould any of the links not work, or I botched something up, please PM me, and I will fix it as quickly as I can.

You've missed Paranoid Android, which to me is fantastic on the Nexus as it allows you to customise on an individual app  basis whether you want phone, phablet or tablet mode  as well as some other neat features :)
