Screen flicker
« on: November 04, 2012, 01:43:42 PM »
Are any recent owners still experiencing screen flicker at low light settings? I would love to use this tablet for reading, but would find flickering at low levels annoying.
Thanks

Mine only does it very rarely. If you turn off auto brightness it helps reduce the chances of it happening
Phone: Droid Bionic
Tablet: Nexus 7

Mine flickers occasionally. It is more like a streak of lightning and then it's gone.

I have both a Kindle 3 and the Nexus 7 (and a horde of PCs). IMO, using an eReader with the e-Ink display is much a much nicer reading experience without question - compared to either N7 or PC and I read a lot of books.

However, the Nexus is a full blown general purpose computer with much more versatility, as you would expect.  I use both and have no problem doing so.  e-readers are certainly cheap enough that price is no barrier to having both as well.  I read on the N7 when I don't have my Kindle handy but feh, not as pleasant, nor does the battery last very long by comparison.

My 32 GB N7 has shown no "screen flicker" other than when you would expect (shutdown, some app loads, etc).

The screen flicker was a known issue. It was fixed for the most part with the 4.1.2 update, but came back with 4.2. I'm sure Google will be including a fix with the next update that should be soon.

I never use auto bright and I have had a slight flicker every so often. Its funny I almost never have it with the new update. Does anyone else have the lightning issue that I have? Its like twice a week now but happens. I swear .
