is it possible to transfer data btwn Nexus 7 & a USB flash drive?? if so...how? tx.

You can read media (music, books, movies, etc.  from USB flash drives with the media exporter (?)  app, but you can't write to them unless you root your Nexus 7.

There are many options. I suggest performing a search in the main forum for OTG USB drive. You will find all of your questions already answered.

Root your device. Buy and use a OTG cable that is compatible with the Nexus 7. INSTALL Stick Mount app.
