Is the N7 price hiked up outside the US?

(1/1)

samalex:
CBers said he ordered his N7 from eBuyer.com and got it the next day, lucky chap, but looking at the eBuyer.com website it shows the N7 (16 Gig version) is selling for £199.00 which according to Google equals $308.92 USD.  Any reason why the Nexus 7 is priced so much higher there?

Also I noticed they offer a 2 and 3 year warranty which I wish Google would've offered as an add-on as well.

Just an observation...

Babyfacemagee:
It's very common for prices to vary by region.   They are also a bit higher in Australia.  This was all announced when the Nexus 7 was introduced.

The £199 in the UK includes tax.  I think in the states you guys add it on because it varies by state right?

That makes sense, yeah tax is not included when prices are quoted here in the US since each state does have a varying tax.  I just checked my order and the 16 Gig tablet ended up being $282.71 total after tax and shipping so I guess that's not too different from the UK price.

in Canada, my 16gb was $259 (vs $250 in the US), not a big deal... in this situation, but I'm getting sick of this price difference now that the Canadian dollar is pretty much on par with the US dollar.  (I'm actually American living in Vancouver).  Last year, I bought a dSLR that was $1400 in the US yet it's MSRP in Canada is $1500!  Why??
