I bought my Nexus 7 a week ago. In fact, it's a Christmas present for my girlfriend  (I'm travelling 600 miles to see her on Thursday to give the present). I used it for a few days. I wanted to be able to show her how it worked, put apps on it, a couple of albums etc. Now it won't work. Every time I go into an app, let's say Google Chrome, it will exit after about 5 seconds. Same thing with all apps. Sometimes I get an error message, sometimes I don't (I mostly don't). I've rebooted it many times. And if it's a question of installing the new software - I'm not even able to do that because google quits after a few seconds. I just clicked into skype there now and it says something about reporting a crash (and that was after I deleted the cach for skype, thinking that might solve the problem).

Help. I don't want my train tickets to have gone to waste, I really want this to be a great present. I'm so disappointed...

Thanks in advance.

And even when I try to contact google to return it, the link doesn't work! I click return faulty item and then a new page loads with only the google badge.

Before returning it I would try a factory reset.

Sounds like you may have installed something that conflicts with a system process. You can start removing apps one at a time until it's fixed, starting with the most recent.  A factory reset might be your best option. Almost guaranteed fix, no worries.

> Settings > Backup & reset > Factory data reset

If that doesn't work, it's electronic infant mortality, & you'll have to return it.

I'm not the lowest of the low, but I am the slowest of the slow.

Did you ever hook this up to a computer? How did you add the music? I am thinking the reset is your best bet right now.
