Lifehacker Poll Puts Nexus 7 On Top Of The Android Tablet World
« on: December 05, 2012, 12:46:42 PM »

What's the best Android tablet?  That's the question that Lifehacker, the popular tech lifestyle site posed, pitting 5 of the top Android tablets against each other and asking readers to vote on their favorite.  Unsurprisingly the Nexus 7 by Google came out on top with a full 55% of the total vote.  Citing size, battery life, build quality and a beautiful display as well as the Jelly Bean OS and Google Now, the 7 inch N7 slaughtered the competition.

Interestingly, coming up 2nd wasn't such well known older tablets such as the Asus Transformer Pad Infinity, it was Google's brand new Nexus 10 which garnered 21% of the vote.  The aforementioned Transformer Pad Infinity came in 3rd with 12% of the vote followed by the Galaxy Note 10.1 with 8% and the Galaxy Tab 2 with 4%.  We can't say we're surprised with these results.  With reports out that the Nexus 7 is selling at a rate of about a million a month it is the 2nd fastest selling tablet of any kind after the iPad and far and wide the king of the Android tablet landscape.

I'm not knocking the N10 but I don't think it will ever be on top because of the N7's pricing...

I agree about the price, but the Nexus 10 is an awesome device.

Took me a while to get used to it, having come from the Nexus 7.

Having had the pleasure of using both the 10 and the 7, which would you prefer/recommend?

When I first got my 10 I wasn't over impressed with it, having used the 7 for so long (4 months), but after having it for a few weeks now, I wouldn't go back to the 7.

Don't get me wrong, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the 7, but I now prefer the 10, but I couldn't recommend one over the other, as people choose for totally different reasons. I had an ASUS TRANSFORMER PRIME which was returned and refunded under an RMA, and my 7 was really only a stop-gap until the TRANSFORMER INFINITY was released, but the Nexus 10 was then announced and as I'd had so much fun with the 7, I chose the 10.

My daughter has my 7 so it's still in the family and when I use it, it's like putting an old pair of shoes on, if you know what I mean :-)

Everything is the same on the 7 & 10, apart from the obvious, which is why I frequent these forums so much, trying to assist where I can.
