No faults.
Hdw may be fixed. Still stress testing.
Suggest disabling location services in all widgets and inputting location manually. Like for weather updates.

There was an update for HD WIDGETS today, which included a "potential fix for 4.2 reboots".

No faults. I think HDW is patched for the 4.2 location services bug. Now the dev needs to tell everyone else how he did it!

The 2nd update also caused a reboot. Ironic. Reminds me of win7, restart now or later?

And end test.
Other than the 2 reboots immediately after updating hdw, no faults.

Test bed = stock unrooted nex7 on jb 4.2.1
All services on except Blue Tooth and nfc, except where noted.
Running Project M in live wallpaper mode, video aggregator TV Portal streaming to BS Player in pop-up mode while loading and exiting apps too numerous to list.

If the developer of HD Widgets is a member/reader of this forum then he/she deserves many thumbs up/kudos for the patch.

When elephants step on my tail, I sometimes notice.

Hijack over. Sorry, op.

I have been using HDW now for a day or so and haven't noticed any problems. I had one reboot last night but that has been par for the course lately.

I had a reboot immediately after uninstalling HDW. Nothing since.
I'm thinking this reboot bug has to do with location services, and not GPS.

I'm guessing that location services is some kind of reverse ip address look-up database that internet providers contribute to. On a tablet without a gps module, location services would position the device to the wifi router I used. Like in google maps.

The unintentional reboots seemed to be caused by widgets that used location services, not gps. For me anyway.
