Wifi Throughput
« on: December 08, 2012, 12:15:26 PM »
The nexus 7 has 802.11n/g capability.
Has anyone measured the mbs on an 'n' router? I'm wondering if the nex7 module is dual-band or single.
My router is an old 'g' and I want to upgrade it. Is it true that any 'g' device connected to an 'n' router will drop the whole network to 'g' speeds? My laptop is 'g'.

It all depends on how you've set your router up.

After researching, it seems the wifi is 2.4ghz single stream only, with a theoretical maximum of 65 mbps and real life 33mbps. Not much reason to upgrade my router and laptop.
