So with the holiday season wrapping up and us hurtling full steam ahead towards a new year, I know there's a lot of new Nexus 7 owners that are joining us on the forum. With so many great apps available in the Google Play Store it can be a little overwhelming for some to know where to start. Therefore I thought some of our experienced Nexus 7 and Android hands could lend some suggestions. To keep things manageable let's keep it to a maximum of 5 suggestions per member. Give us what you think should be the very first and most important 5 apps you would download for your Nexus 7 if you first received your tablet.
Here's mine in no particular order...and of course my selection of Netflix only applies if you are a subscriber so you can replace that with your favorite video streaming site of choice or just use the Google Play Store. I've chosen to only include one game as a pick for my current fave and I would encourage others to really focus mostly on making app suggestions as well. We can start a separate thread just focusing on games in the games board. There's a ton more I can think of but these are probably 5 of what I use most.
1. TuneIn Radio Pro - Listen to and record hundreds of radio stations, podcasts etc.
2. Netflix - Movies and tv shows galore!
3. Flipboard - One of the best ways to read news on your tablet
4. Need For Speed: Most Wanted - Awesome racing game that shows off the graphic potential of your Nexus 7
5. Moon+ Reader Pro - My pick for the best pdf/ebook reader - Looks fantastic, smooth animations, crisp text, tons of customization options and compatibility (epub, pdf etc)
All of these titles can be found in the
Google Play Store.
