downloading pdf documents
« on: January 11, 2013, 01:39:03 PM »
Hey everyone
I have been trying to download pdf documents from the internet like I do on my laptop but when the file has downloaded it can't be viewed in adobe reader. The file seems to be blank.
Anyone have any ideas.
Cheers
Paul

Try Kingsoft office from Google play.

I use Office Suite Pro or Quick Office Pro. They are a little pricey but work well. There are some free options for PDF at the store.

You do need to let it render in Adobe Reader.

You can open it using amazon kindle app if you have it installed. Go to your file manager, click the downloaded pdf,  then if it ask you what default app should open it, just choose kindle.

from the reviews of adobe pdf reader:
"The sad part is, at times when I open a file, the screen goes blank and stays that way for quite a while. I've to press the home key, go to settings and clear data for the app and then it starts working. "

my bold
you might want to try one (or several) of the other zillion pdf readers (or even the eBook Readers since virtually all of them render PDF files for better or worse)

My take - I just convert all pdf docs into ePub or .mobi copies (and trash the original) depending on what's in it and read it with an eReader from then on.

PDF sux.

Sometimes it's good to test paid apps. I kept both office apps.  I think I bought one when Google was having that big 25 cent sale. I think you have fifteen minutes to cancel and get a refund if you are not happy with the app.
