Macro capabilities?
« on: May 09, 2013, 03:15:53 PM »
Does android have macro capabilities for repetitive tasks?

If not, is there an app that adds that ability?

What tasks are you referring too? Widgets can be a good shortcut when set up properly.

What specific tasks?

There are automation apps like Tasker, AutomateIt and Llama... they can control most of the phone's configurations behind the scenes.

I have not fully thought it through. I was thinking of things like a single click on a shortcut that would automate things like:

Open MyPhoneExplorer and sync my calendar to my laptop (or my private website) at regular intervals.

Open ES File Explorer and backup my android device to my laptop (or my private website) at regular intervals.

Etc.

I don't like syncing to the cloud or Google but would like to sync my devices via my own hosted website or laptop.
