What you see in the video above and in the pics below ladies and gents are reportedly the first pictures and video of the new Nexus 7 to hit the web. The leak to AndroidCentral from an anonymous source shows the new 7 inch tablet in all its glory including a sleeker appearance and some cool hardware upgrades from the first generation including dual rear speakers, a rear camera and upgraded screen, processor and (possibly) ram.
Now as far as specs go there's still a little uncertainty, although some seem to be confirmed. It would appear from the labeling on the back and some detective work from the person in possession of the tablet that the specs are: a Qualcomm APQ8064 Motherboard with a Snapdragon S4 Pro processor, an impressive 4GB of DDR3L Ram, MicroUSB, dual speakers (upper and lower), a 1.2 MP front camera by LITEONMOBILE and 5MP rear camera by Chicony.
Now the model # of this tablet is ME571K_PR1_SKU2 and we want to point out that interestingly the 'NEXUS' logo on the back is in landscape orientation. This is a switch from the first generation but it kind of explains why Asus has chosen to have the dual speakers...for maximum stereo separation during movie and video viewing. We're still working on confirming specs. We know there's been talk of a possible Snapdragon 600 in the new N7 so we're holding out the possibility that there may be different models sporting different processors but even with the S4 Pro this thing should scream. So what do you think folks? Excited for the new Nexus 7? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
