Stong WiFi signal, but no internet connection
« on: October 29, 2013, 12:44:29 PM »
Lately I have  been losing my internet connection or it comes and goes. This happens often when I have a strong WiFi signal. It has been frustrating, seems like all I can do is play solitaire with my Nexus these days.
I am a beginner at this, so if please make responses easy to understand.
Thanks

First you will need to identify weather the problem originates from your Nexus 7 or if it is your WiFi router. Trying another WiFi enabled device on your local WiFi network and trying your Nexus 7 on another WiFi network, would be the first steps that I would suggest. Then we can help you identify your issues and correct them.

Have to tried to discern whether this is YOUR  router or your Nexus? What do you mean by comes and goes? Please give a description of what you are doing when you lose connection. Are you moving? Stable in a spot that gets a strong signal? Do you use your router for a computer or TV? Does it come and go with those devices as well?

2.4ghz g, 5ghz n. Cordless phones also can interfere. WiFi analyzer app can give you an idea of competing router signals, so you can pick a clear channel on the router.
