wireless display??
« on: November 02, 2013, 04:34:32 AM »
Hi,

I have seen that the new Nexus 7 can connect to a wireless display - but how do I know if my TV can do this? I have seen that the iPad Mini and New iPad Air has something called Airplay mirroring and I saw a video that someone unboxed the new iPad and he used Airplay Mirroring onto his desktop Apple computer. what I am trying to say is apart from connecting hdmi cables how do i use wireless display or is there something else that can be used to get it onto my TV?

There is a pending android os update that I would wait for. Wireless display or miracast  will lag a bit on games and video IMO. Xda site has posts on some TVs and dongles that kinda work.

Chromecast is another option that only sends the link to the device connected to the TV.

I'm just speculating, haven't seen any posts yet. But part of kit-kat will be a new WiFi tunneling protocol for faster data between devices on a network. This could mean big changes for chromecast.
