Jelly Bean update keeps appearing
« on: November 14, 2013, 02:21:47 PM »
Hi: I've got a Nexus 7 2013 running 4.3. Every so often I get an update saying upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.3. Odd, but I tried it anyway. After restart the update quits. Restarted and the tablet works OK. Tried it on a few occasions with the same result.
Anyone know why this is happening?
Also, will it prevent the 4.4 KitKat update arriving on my tablet, because it thinks I haven't upgraded to 4.3 yet?
I assume that 4.4 is now available but it hasn't appeared on the tablet.
Thanks.
Donald

What is the build number of your 4.3?

If your on build JSS15R you'll be able to update, if not then I'd suggest you return your Nexus 7 to your point of sale due to the failure to update...

Thanks Guys: My build number is JSS15J and the Android version is 4.3.
Does the update that wont install brings me to JSS15R?
The update that wont install says upgrade to Jelly Bean 4.3, but this is already running. Or is the update that wont install an incremental update to 4.3? Or is the tablet reporting that 4.2 is installed and so the update keeps on trying to install?
Or, the final or, should I really take it back?
Thanks.

It's an incremental, all that changes is the build number. So you go from Android version 4.3, build number JSS15J to Andriod version 4.3, build number JSS15R.

You need to get that update to apply. Either manually if your confident with tech or return it to your piont of sale for a replacement.

If you are under warranty, backup your data and try a factory reset, then attempt the update, if it fails again, return for a replacement.
