Nexus 7 not recognised in Windows 7 Explorer

My Nexus 7 version 1 is suddenly not recognized in Windows 7 Explorer.I have tried the"Windows remedies without success.Please help

Check Control Panel to see if your Win 7 computer recognizes your Nexus 7 as a device.

If it doesn't, you need to reinstall the device drivers. If it's recognized as a device, and Windows Explorer doesn't see it, you probably just need to reset your Nexus 7 's settings to get it recognized.

In Developer Options, make sure USB debugging is checked and turned on. In Storage, click on the 3 bar menu icon in the upper right corner, and click on USB computer connection, and connect as MTP or PTP.

First Go to Settings, tap Storage, tap three dots at top right. tap USB Computer Connection, make sure MTP is checked. Then check for Nexus as a Portable Device, and if not go to the next step.

• Plug the Nexus 7 into your computer with the USB cable.
• Open Device Manager.
• Find "Android Device" near the top and expand the node. Double click on "Android Composite ADB Interface".
• In the properties window that pops up, uninstall the driver (I chose to delete the current driver as well, not sure if that matters).
• Unplug the tablet and plug it back in.
• Check Device Manager to see if Nexus is recognized as a Portable Device

If the above method fails, remove the ADB driver again, unplug your Nexus, download Mark Skippen's Universal Toolkit and install Here to download. Open the toolkit, select your device and allow all of the downloads and open the Toolkit without your Nexus connected and select option 1 to install the necessary drivers. Close the toolkit and plug in your tablet. Then check to see if your Nexus is recognized as a Portable Device.

I really appreciate you assistance. However, There isn't an Android device node in my Device Manager, so I'm unable carry out the fix.
If you are able to help, I;d be really grateful

First try a different USB cable. Second try to install the drivers from Mark Skippen's toolkit listed above.
