hi there! some advice needed
« on: January 28, 2014, 07:46:11 PM »
hello all
i got just before xmas a first gen nexus 7, had it on special here. i had an ipad 4 but ex stole it so as i only wanted a tablet to read books and magazines while travelling i didnt feel i needed to spend the extra for the 2nd gen.
anyway. i have a few questions
firstly, how do i delete a file off the nexus 7? i got into alkido and delete it but when i try to delete it using my latop it just says waiting: nexus 7 is busy
very annoying as i put loads of stuff on there and need to clear space.
secondly, i really only use it for reading most of the time, but i did use my ipad4 for gaming..is there any GREAT games you recommend that the 1st gen nexus 7 will play well?
was thinking chrono trigger but might get that for DS instead. then was thinking FF6 but i have that for GBA/DS as well.. but would be nice to play while travelling through asia for 3-6 months
any recommendations?

thanks in advance for any help guys
cheers

Aaron

Get a file management app like ES File Explorer from the link below and you will be able to delete files from your tablet easily, although it won't help much with your ex.

just another quick, silly question

i only have books and comics stored on it
i checked there is 14 gig spare
book folder is 2 gig
comics folder is 6 gig
says there is a total of 27 gig on there
i only have 5 or 6 apps all quite small, alkido, vlc.. plus all the crap that came with it
would all those apps account for 5.5 gig or so unaccounted for?

I'm moving this thread to the help board as it's not really an introduction.  If you want to introduce yourself to the community please make a new post where you do so but keep any questions you have separate.  Thanks.

Deleting the file with a file manager on your tablet will delete them completely, just remember there is no recycle bin like windows. Your PC connects to your tablet by MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) which does not function entirely like the Windows file management system, so without getting into a long discussion, let me suggest, that you use it to transfer data to your tablet, just remember that large transfers can produce unwanted results. For file management on your tablet (moving, copying, deleting, etc.) you will find your PC connected by MTP to be a poor choice.

There are some great games available for Android devices, it depends largely in what your into though.
Personally I'm playing, Dead Trigger 2, Star Wars Tiny Death Star, Doctor Who: Legacy, Angry Birds Star Wars and Riptide GP 2 on my phone. Grand Theft Auto Vice City and San Andreas on my Nexus 7.
There are others like Marvel Run Jump Smash!, Where's my Water, Crazy Taxi, The Walking Dead: Assault, Subway Surfers, The Room, Asphalt 8: Airborne, True Skate, Tiny Thief, Hell Yeah: Pocket Inferno, Alien Breed, Robot Unicorn Attack and many, many more.

It's worth checking sites like Android Police, Android Central and Android Authority because they regularly have round ups of games released.

I'd also recommend checking Google Play Games which should already be on your tablet.
