people can't hear me during video chat

(1/1)

slowhite03:
I'm new, I've had my n7 for about 3 months. When I first got it I was able to video chat and use Google hangout fine. Now I'm having a problem where I can't be heard on the other side, I can hear and see the other person just fine and they can see me but they cant hear me at all. Same problem with skype, so i know this is a hardware/speaker issue and not the program. I've played around with no luck. Ive read on the web that I may have blown one of the two speakers but I have no idea. Can anybody help me please? Thanks in advance

It's not the speakers that pick up your voice. There's a small hole next to the volume controls with a mike behind it. Make sure the hole is not blocked by the case or dirt.

The microphone could be bad, disconnected, or a program may have interfered. Try the testing program, if it doesn't work try it in safe mode which will disable any apps from loading at boot.

The first generation n7 has two microphones. On the left and bottom when holding in landscape with controls to the top.
