Cast using VPN

I posted this in the wrong forum....believe it belongs here. I have the 2nd generation Nexus 7 and a Netgear Push,
2tv 3000 for display on my HDTV. Everything works fine until I connect the Nexus 7 to my VPN....then I can't get it to connect to the Push2tv. I need the VPN for Hulu, Netflix, etc. Can anyone help?

Well, your nexus is on the VPN so it can't see devices on the local network. Get a router - hook the VPN to the router instead of directly from the nexus.
