Mail stuck in outbox
« on: July 21, 2014, 02:36:31 AM »
We have G mail as the primary e mail system and Hotmail as the secondary and mostly used on the tablet. I have had the tablet for over a year and it has started retaining mail in the outbox,  on Hotmail , instead of sending it straightaway. I have tried switching the set on and off to no avail. Most of the mails go within 24 hours but I have lost confidence. In a test with g mail this morning the mail went ok whilst 2 were stuck in the Hotmail outbox. ( G mail is my husbands address so don't want to have to use it all the time ) Has anyone had this problem ? :'(

I am assuming that you are using the stock email client, so as a suggestion, try a different email app, like CloudMagic, and see if your issue is resolved, if so then remove your email address from the stock client. This is the link to CloudMagic in the Play Store:  https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cloudmagic.mail

Thank you for the advice. I am now using Cloud Magic successfully and the problem with the outbox is resolved. Problem is I cannot get rid of the original account entitled Corporate. I cannot find a delete option on the menu. ( as with the Google account )

Go to Settings / Accounts / and tap the account you want to remove and you will see the option to delete the account.

Yes that is what I was trying to do but no delete option there, just sync. I have rendered the account inactive by turning off the sync and changing my MSN password so I will just hide it for now. Thanks anyway. I am happy !  :D

Something to try:

Go to settings
select corporate account
select your email address, NOT ACCOUNT SETTINGS
select the three dots in the top right corner
select remove account
I used to be crazy until I found out that insane pays more.

Where am I?  What am I doing in this handbasket?
