Dannyd:
Rebooted to factory settings. Next day turned it off to charge it. Now it wants a password which I don't know. An option for I forgot never comes up. How can I get in? I tried to reboot again but it says no command. When I hold down the buttons it goes to the start page and the password that I don't know. Please help.

It sounds as though the tablet is encrypted. You will need to get Wugfresh's or Mark Skippen's Nexus toolkit and install the stock ROM.
