Nexus 7 (2012) and Marshmallow

Most news I have read suggests this device will not get Marshmallow.  Now today I see a couple of articles that suggest it will...

I wonder... 
At the very least though, I want security updates.

Update:  it is confirmed, 2012 won't get the upgrade.  Security patches will continue, though.
