New to tablets and Android
« on: August 04, 2012, 03:55:35 PM »
Hey kids just wanted to say howdy and see how everyone likes their N7...  My Mac Pro got the black screen of death and Apple kind of pissed me off for charging me $310 to fix a known problem.  I decided to look into this tablet thing.  I looked at the Toshiba Excite, Samsung Tab, the IPad, and the Motorolla Xoom.  I honestly was just not impressed with any of them except the iPad.  I didn't want to drop $400 on a tablet after dropping $300 to repair my laptop.  I watched some videos on YouTube about the N7 and everyone seemed impressed.  I ordered the 16GB on Wednesday July 26 and got it that Saturday.
I haven't been able to put it down since I got it...

Welcome to the forum hopedevil. It is nice to have a device without a $500 buy in point.

Hey hopdevil,

The price of the N7 is the only reason I have one, I just couldn't justify the cost of a higher end tab. I have a Galaxy S2 which is a great phone and is very capable, unbelievable that the retail on my dual core ICS smartphone is more than double that of my quad core JellyBean tab.

I've been a Mac FanBoy until now. The N7 is easier to carry and faster than my first iPad.

The only drawback is that I use a marine chart platter for work and as yet the options for the N7 and 4.1 are limited.

I usually try to stop in Morro Bay on boat deliveries.
