Using USB OTG on a rooted Nexus 7 with Stickmount - what am I missing?

(1/1)

tomreid:
Hi

I have rooted my Nexus 7. Installed Stickmount. Checked that my USB OTG adaptor is one of the ones listed as having been proven to work with the nexus 7 by other people using this forum.

Plugged in both an SLR camera and a USB flash drive to the Nexus, but still nothing happens.

Stick Mount reports "no active mounts", there's no sign of a USB drive in ES File Explorer.

Anyone got any ideas?

cheers

Do you have SuperSU installed? I would open SuperSU and look under the Apps tab to see if StickMount is registered, and if so, click on its entry to see if has been granted (superuser) access rights.  If not, you should be able to grant access at that point.

Also, on my tablet, the USB drive was mounted on /storage/sdcard0/usbStorage/sda1 rather than on /mnt/usbdrive/sda1, where I expected to find it.

I had the same issue.  A reboot cleared it up.  :)

when i attach a sd card via otg cable it comes up as sda5. noticed that if i had data on the internal sd card it would come up as sda1. moved data to sda5 and sda1 disappeared. (rooted and stickmount)

so endeth lesson 1 in  useless information.  ;D
