Need help with an app

Hello everyone, I have never had a smartphone or tablet before the nexus 7 and so far am loving it but am unfamiliar with the intricacies of the system.

I downloaded an app for my girlfriend, brave temple run, and we were having a blast playing it and then be being the genius I am saw that it was using battery when it was inactive so I force stopped it. Since then I have not been able to play it without an internet connection, whereas before I could. I have turned it off/on charged it and whatnot and generally am lost on how it is not longer available offline. Any tips?

Have you tried clearing the data and clearing the cache?  If that doesn't work, uninstall it and install it again.  Its sale site shouldn't charge you twice (if you purchased it).

Well the thing is I dont want to lose the saved data in the game.

yeah, if you've turned the device on and off and tried closing the game and can't get it to start up again you might have no choice but to bite the bullet and uninstall/reinstall.
