can't get started
« on: September 08, 2012, 12:54:51 PM »
SO I got myself a Nexus 7 and like it so much I sent one to my mom in Tennessee.  When she poweris it on she says she get a single text box with no verbate or prompt help.  The cursor is in the middle, not left.  If she touhes it she get a keyboard, the return will dismiss the keyboard.  We have tried every account and password we can think of from wifi to play account and the account I purchased the tablet from.   Anything she enters says "try again" and then reboots after about a minute.  What the heck?

A factory reset will restore her Nexus 7 to its original state. If you cannot lead her through the reset have her call Google support and let them walk her through the procedure.

I thought about that, but I googled how to do the nexux 7 reset and found that many users are having problems with a factory reset.  Was hoping for another idea before trying that option.

If the factory reset fails, then you have a legitimate replacement claim.

I did a factory reset with no problem at all.  You just have to be patient and not interrupt it.
