Hi fxsarge, thanks a lot. That is exactly what I thought. What made me ask is that theres a lot of talk about anti virus apps for Android and I thought I was missing something.

Thanks. Its not a case of actually playing the .avi files, its the fact that the Nexus media importer software doesn't actually see all the avi files, nor does it see all the .jpg files that are on the stick. I'm just wondering if the software can only see a limited number of files of a particular kind.

Very useful but I cannot understand why it recognises some .avi files and not others. Likewise with .jpg files - it shows only about 10% of the pictures I've got stored on USB stick.
