Smaller, lighter, cheaper?
Nexus 7 is a nice tablet but I hope tablets five years from now will have edge to edge screens, weigh less and cost less than today.
Lighter?! Smaller?! Seriously? One of the markets that they were going for was ebook readers, if they made it any smaller then it would make it harder to read (for a lot of people). There's also a reason why they didn't design the N7's screen to go edge to edge, again it was to cater to ebook readers, when the screen goes to the edges, the thumb/fingers get in the way while holding the tablet, covering the words towards the sides. Needless to say, they were totally going after the Kindle market
Thats nice, I don't read ebooks personally, and would also prefer the screen to go to the edge, but I read somewhere why they added the thick borders, I was simply passing the info along I use my N7 mostly for reading books. It would be much easier to palm if it did't have the half inch border on each side of the screen. My fingers would be on the edge, not in front of the screen.

Mostly for browsing, I belong to several Internet forums, interests from cars, to photography to fitness forums, so I'm fairly active online. And to watch movies with especially while doing cardio at the gym

On my DroidX I use Dolphin HD for the most part, but I really like the Chrome browser on the N7... I'll probably install Dolphin HD just to have it there, and IIRC Flash was baked into Dolphin so I wonder if it'll work on the N7? I need to test that out.
When I read your post about Flash being baked into Dolphin I got excited and had to try it... well, still no Flash but it was worth a shot

To the OP, when you started setting up your new N7 (congratulations by the way), did the device know/ask you if you had a Google Play account? Try using the card info that may be in your Google Play account. Maybe the credit card info you put into the device does not match what's in your GP account?
No, at that point in the setup, if I recall correctly, it was early on in the setup (like 2nd or 3rd step), it asked for the CC number BEFORE entering my Google account. And yes, I already have one... I currently use a Galaxy Nexus (and have had two other Android phones before). I DID tried buying an app to see if it would take me somewhere to show that I have a $25 credit, but it didn't. I just asked to confirm about charging my CC, the one that was already setup with the Galaxy Nexus.

Why is it asking for credit card info for the $25 Google Play credit? Shouldn't that credit show up on your Google Play Wallet/account to use on Google Play? Does Google Play put $25 on one of your credit cards (a refund of sorts?) in hopes you'll use that card to made purchases on Google Play? Maybe I'm missing something?
I'm not sure why either, but it was part of the setup process (early on in the process, I might add)

I'm guessing it has to be the/a credit card you used in Google Wallet. Try that, & let us know how it goes.
Do you mean the credit card that's linked to the Play Store? If so, yes... I've already tried that CC

My initial plan was to pre order from Future Shop but they don't offer store pick up. Which means more days of waiting. Then I found out that Staples was taking pre orders with store pickup. So last Friday I decided to go to the nearest Staples to pre order when the manager told me that he had one in the box for sale! So I bought it! Friday the 13th was a lucky day for me

There's a seller in the local Craigslist selling his white 8gb, asking $360 I know it's a limited thing, but what a jerk for gauging the price

...so, I picked up my N7 last Friday at Staples, went home and immediately started the setup process. A couple steps into it, it asked for a credit card number for the $25 credit. And after trying 3 different credit cards I skipped the step because it kept saying something like "This credit card can't be used... etc etc." and had the option to skip the step, so I did. But I started thinking... I kinda want that $25 now... Anyone have any ideas on what to do from here?
in case you think I was using a debit/credit card, I was for one of them, the other two were actual credit cards.

in Canada, my 16gb was $259 (vs $250 in the US), not a big deal... in this situation, but I'm getting sick of this price difference now that the Canadian dollar is pretty much on par with the US dollar. (I'm actually American living in Vancouver). Last year, I bought a dSLR that was $1400 in the US yet it's MSRP in Canada is $1500! Why??
