ok, I did the reset several times but nothing changed. It's funny though that 2 Google dudes were trying to make it sound like it is normal.

that is fine, I have to physically hold power button for 30-45 sec (in the best case scenario) just to get google logo
Just done more testing. It might be the power button itself, something getting loose (mechanism or bad contact) because if I hold the button and then move the tablet around it will begin the start up process, but I will send it for exchange anyways. Too bad B&H closes for more than 10 days. 5

I called Google one more time and yet the other guy was BSing me "well it will do that, if the device completely powered off", but suggested to contact ASUS at last, what I did. By ASUS' suggestion I did factory reset (which didn't change things), so they say next step is RMA. I am not sure what to do though RMA to the store or ASUS.
You guys might check power cycle on your device. Google has to learn their stuff even quick start manual states that it takes 4 sec to press the power button 6

Today I received my new nexus 7. I played with it for awhile and then turn it off to compare start up times with Galaxy Tab 2. I pressed power button and nothing happened. I tried different combinations and basically it will power on after 45 seconds holding power button or if it plugged in to charge. Battery is at 70%. I called Google tech support and the guy made it sound like it is a "feature" of the device. He was like if the device stays plugged in for too long, has low battery, or was turned off manually the device will take 30 seconds to power on. That just doesn't sound right.
I haven't really found any good tips apart sending it back. PS: I haven't had any issues with Samsung Galaxy tab 2 for a month of owning it.
