Nexus 7 Help / two problems
« on: August 15, 2013, 11:51:01 AM »
I generally love my Nexus 7. But I am having a couple of problems.

Only when I am at Starbucks (I go to two different ones), I have developed a problem getting the WiFi to hook up. Right now, I am at one and it has taken me over an hour to get online. In the settings screen, it shows having a great connection, but in the top corner, the signal strength shows light gray. I turn the WiFi on and off, the tablet on a and off, it makes no difference. I was prepared to go to the library (it always connects there), when it suddenly decided to work. So here I am. Any ideas what is going on?

Next, a couple of weeks ago, I got the notice the new update was ready to install, which I did. Now it takes 2 or 3 minutes for the tablet to boot up. Any idea why?

George

Your post is offensive. A legitimate question was asked and you responded as a jerk!

I am still interested in one, just disappointed that they seem to have simply discontinued the 8 GB model and there won't be a chance to get a "super deal."

I appreciate the information. It's encouraging to hear someone with no problems.

Now I wait for the news on Monday for pricing!

Thanks,

George

Yes, I have been satisfied with the HP, but I like the idea of the 7" pad plus at $99 I "want" something new! But reliable, yes, I want that.

I'm just curious as I am considering getting the nexus 7 to go to the smaller tablet. I now have a HP Touchpad that I got when they decided to discontinue them. Got it new for $99. It serves me fine, and I have had zero problems with it in the year+ I've had it.

Anyway, I've been looking at the Nexus and I read a lot about problems with the screens popping up, failing in general. If it is going to fail, I don't need it.

Do I need to worry?

I have also read that they might reduce the price to $99 for the 8GB model. That would be nice.

Thanks,

George
