If for some reason you have to get a RMA and send your tab in for service, please take pictures of it beforehand.  Hopefully you won't have to send it in but tablets are very easy to scratch/dent during repair.

Yes rooting voids your warranty. But if you need warranty service, it is a simple process to replace CWM with the stock recovery and re-lock the bootloader and you are no longer rooted.
