I have a mostly the same apps on both my Nexus 7 and Nexus 4, things like Tapatalk, MX Player, System Monitor, Franco kernel updater, Dropbox and Airdroid.
Mostly though because it has more storage and screen size I use my Nexus 7 as a media device to watch You Tube, Movies and play Games so I have more apps on the 7.
I don't any 3rd part keyboard on either devices, I'm happy with the gesture tipping on the stock keyboard and I didn't get on with Swiftkey (bought on sale), if I'm typing on my 7 I tend to use it in portrait anyway but that's the beauty of Android... user customisation.
