Nexus 7 screen

I have a mystery (to me anyway) Maybe someone here can help. I downloaded CoPilot and started using. Funny thing -- when I turn the Nexus to the landscape position the screen goes dark (maybe similar to going to sleep). If I turn it back to the portrait position the screen comes back on. Turn it to back to landscape position & again it goes dark.

I wanted to blame it on CoPilot but I signed out of it and it did the same thing. It even does it on the sign in screen. Any ideas?

Could it be you have the brightness set to Auto and the orientation is having an effect on the sensor?
