How do I associate ePub books with Nook
« on: September 11, 2012, 09:49:03 AM »
When I download an eBook with format .epub, my N7 offers choices of apps to use for opening it, but none of the choices are any good.  How can I make it open in Barnes and Noble Nook?  (or will Google Play Books work? -- how could I make this app open the epub file?)  So far, I have been moving the downloaded file to the Nook folder, after which I can easily read it in Nook, but that is not a very convenient way to do it.

Not sure if this helps, but I regularly download EPUB books from my local (NC Digital Library) library to N7 .  I use a reader (from Adobe) called "Overdrive" for Android, as recommended by my library.  Works just fine.

Using Overdrive, does the epub file automatically go into your Nook library? or what epub reader do you use?

Try CoolReader from the Play Store, it will allow you to browse for a directory, rather than moving your content to a designated folder.

In answer to yiour question:

My primary goal is to get books on loan from my library.
"Overdrive" (for Android) reads EPUB books and "Kindle Reader" (for Android) reads books in AMZ format.

I have not tried moving books to B&B Nook folder (so I can buy them ?)

Thanks.  I also get Kindle books this way.  I am coming to the conclusion that Nook does not make my life easy, so my best solution is to uninstall it.

Thanks S.Prime.  That's what I need.  I am reducing my anxiety by uninstalling Nook and installing Cool Reader.
